It's International Babywearing Week right now!
I must admit that I'm not doing anything to mark the occasion in my little corner of the week but I thought I'd post a pic to show that you can easily wear big(ger) kids.
Here's my 5yo (some 19kg?) son in our fantastic Preschool Kinderpack:
I made a ringsling out of a Girasol wrap recently and it's still sitting here. I can't use it with my 'baby' any more, as he's a big 5yo now. I haven't used a ringsling with him for ages (of course).
Today I got to use the sling with a just turned one year old! She's my friend's little girl and knows me well, so she was very happy to get up in the sling and stay there for quite a while.
It was so nice to have those snuggles with her! I'd almost forgotten how nice ringslings are, especially ones made from a woven wrap.
Everybody usually raves about woven wraps and yes, they are awesome, versatile and wonderful.
But ringslings are so simple and quick and easy. Great with toddlers who want up and down a lot.
Better show a pic of the two of us today:
